Totally True. On a similar note, some of the most naive & brainwashed humans Ive come across, actually have a degree from some Major University?! Just sayin. Now, to be fair, I also know many great graduates as well ;) Nevertheless, being a CEO of a quickly rising Digital Enterprise (HUB), know that your degree means nothing to me when applying. Nothing. Seriously. I look at your Work Ethic, Willingness to Learn, your Ambition, your Business Independence, Labor Mentality, how Easy you can Break Bad Habits (learned from professors), your Problem Solving Skills (not with math, rather: Life), Creative Thinking, actual Work Experience in a particular Field, etc, etc. Degree? Eh... whatever, but thats just me. Believe it or not, I actually enjoy meeting someone who has dropped out of college TO START A BUSINESS. Even if that business has since failed... that one act shows me guts, grit, desire... and Independence! (Now, if you dropped out for laziness, thats a different story). People with Guts are what I personally seek though. Not those who sport a piece of paper with a fancy overpriced emblem / header, of which impresses for about 5 seconds. All that said, many dropouts become successful as well, dont forget that next time you find yourself judging someone who has moved on prematurely from college. A few famous dropouts include: Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Gabe Newell, Mark Zuckerberg, Ty Warner, John Mackey (Whole Foods), Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Russell Simmons, Ted Turner, etc, etc, etc... ;) In my opinion, todays University is mainly good for Partying, Sports and Overall Social Experience. I actually feel that those not playing sports, should get a job for a few years, gain some Life Experience... all while discovering fields that theyre passionate about; from there, pursuing such. If a technical institute helps, then great. This is better than wasting your time learning many things that youll never use in your working, real, life... Trust me, I know. My REAL education began AFTER leaving the University.
