Richard named to list of Worlds Best CEOs March 24, 2014 Richard has been named among Barron’s 30 best CEOs list, reflecting a group of elite leaders whose qualities enables their companies to stay ahead of rivals and deliver market-beating returns for shareholders. As a newcomer to the financial publication’s 10th annual list, Richard was recognized for innovating boost profit, cutting debt and paying dividends. “His cost-conscious moves have delivered four years of profits,” Barron’s said of Richard’s leadership. “Airline stocks were lousy investments for decades, but Anderson, who stepped into Deltas cockpit just as the carrier was emerging from bankruptcy protection, helped change that perception.” The annual list reflects the views of Barrons reporters and editors, taking into account the opinions of investors, analysts, and industry executives. Others listed include Jeff Bezos, chief executive officer of Amazon, Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive officer of Facebook, and Howard Schultz, chief executive officer of Starbucks. Before joining Delta in September 2007, Richard was CEO of Northwest Airlines from 2001 to 2004.
