Totally jumping on the bandwagon here! I dont think that - TopicsExpress

Totally jumping on the bandwagon here! I dont think that overflowing gifts make a child ungrateful. I also dont think giving your child 1 gift makes you a better parent or a worse parent. I think its the parenting method of how you teach your children to appreciate the items that they get no matter if its 1, 20, or 100 is what is important. Its not the quantity of gifts that make us good parents, its our tender, love, and attention to our children. I would never judge someone for getting their child one gift and I wouldnt judge anyone for going overboard. You dont know the reasoning behind a parent going big or going small and even if there isnt one, what another person buys their child shouldnt make you question your parenting ability and it certainly shouldnt tempt you to judge them. I see people bashing each other all over Facebook every holiday because of MATERIAL THINGS. It honestly and truly doesnt matter. I see people posting pictures going overboard and people posting they could only get one thing and then as always there are pictures of what I consider to be baskets in moderation. Do I think anyone is trying to outdo anyone else? No, we are simply Moms sharing with each other. Does it make me feel better or worse that someone got less or more than Stormy? Nope, because I know that Im a good parent in how I raise my child regardless if at any given holiday I am able to give her a lot or a little. Its just better to be understanding than to beat each other down. Happy Easter everyone! :)
