Tottenham 5-3 Chelsea topics to discuss- Does our defence need a shake up? Obviously, losing a game 5-3 is going to always raise defensive issue alarm bells. Weve always prided ourselves on how good we are at defending as a unit but today, it felt like every time they went forward they would score and in my opinion, for a club of our calibre conceding 5 to any team whatever there performance is unacceptable. In my opinion, I think Cahill and Ivanovic stood out as to being extremely poor today. Its unlike Ivanovic to be overwhelmed by the guy hes marking but Nacer Chadli caused him all sorts of problems. Cahill has been on my radar for a couple of weeks now not necessarily for his poor performances but more so some stupid mistakes hes been making almost regularly. He never got a hold of Harry Kane today and the penalty he gave away was absolutely stupid defending. Rotating the defence can be extremely dangerous, title winning sides have always had a set back 4. However this season fellow top 3 teams Manchester City and United have all rotated defenders regularly. Until today however we have been very solid at the back, but with todays dreadful performance is it time for a change? Zouma has looked very promising until now and we have a 16 million pound left back in Felipe Luis that was highly regarded as one of the best players in his position last year sitting on the bench. Having read the comments from earlier, we seem divided between whether today was just a fluke loss, or simply a clear sign its time for a slight change. What do you think? Do we need to change our back 4?
