Touched by others I am most myself When I am hungry I cannot see I cannot walk I cannot even stand All is become now and there is no tomorrow No planning, no sense The world looks into my eyes and dies anew Each second and each second has but one chance To change, to renew itself to live anew without hunger With plenty Satiated I can dream I can fall into a deep and restful sleep Awake refreshed and fashion our new world A world without hunger At least the kind that leads to starvation To stupidity To war Will you help me? Ah but When you are hungry you wish to appear powerful But your soul belies its greed You crouch you pounce you grab You wrest from the world what has always been given Freely You see but through glasses washed In my blood And your future though not mine is now And cannot be stopped A juggernaut, it swallows the world. Hunger.
