Tough Call! Everybody understands TBT and posts pics of back in the day. I post music but Ill only ask your indulgence this one time. Heres why: Music has connected my life like nothing else ever has or will. Moving around the country and overseas there was no real place to call home or to say where I was from. With music I could, however, instantly recall exactly where I was, who my friends were and other touchstones that help me remember key moments, people and places in my life. The posting here, AND the challenge to you: If you had to pick one and only one song that summed up the best, the happiest or at least the most profound phase of your ENTIRE life as a Brat, what would it be? I grew up in Germany in the 70s. Out of ALL the classic rock, pop and R&B that came out, from Styx, Kansas, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, ABBA,Heatwave, Earth Wind & Fire, Boz Scaggs, the Eagles and oh so many more...this one automatically takes me back with a big smile to Stuttgart, Germany, Patch Barracks and Jr. High at Robinson Barracks Middle School. Rose Royce ran off a string of hits including some I actually like better than this first #1 smash. Car Wash, for its giddy and carefree joy of living feel sums up those and many others best of all.
