Tough times lately...so many phone calls about stray and abandoned cats to owner surrenders, We can only help as many cats as we have foster homes and financial support to vet them. Support from our community is critical to the continued rescue of cats and kittens. A few facts about who we are and what we do: 1. We are fundraising ongoing: we have our online store with many items for sale at very reasonable prices; 2. We have two more BBQs this season; bottle drives every month. 3. In September, upcoming craft and bake sales, Entertainment Expo. Love and Records next month at Galt Gardens. We have ongoing fundraising via donations at ATB Cares. We are Federally and Provincially registered. We can issue tax receipts. All of our donations go to the care of the cats: vet bills, food, litter and other necessities. 4. We are entirely Volunteer run. We rely on foster homes as we do not have our own building WE NEED OUR OWN SPACE! If only someone would let us rent a house for the cats! Or donate a house to the cats! We look after our cats; we would keep our space clean, We have volunteers that go every day to check on the cats and clean. Perhaps we should look at buying a house and fundraise for the mortgage every month? 5. Where do we go from here? 6. If we did not exist hundreds of cats and kittens would not survive. 7. The City of Lethbridge does not care, never has, has never given us one cent towards the rescue. We have done many presentations to City Council to no avail. 8. The public needs to realize that we do not sit with a phone at our ear(s) eagerly waiting to go and pick up unwanted cats. We are Volunteers who work, have families and have a tremendous amount of rescue work to do every day. 9. Rescue is a never ending ongoing and daunting task. All support is greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who supports what we do. (Elizabeth)
