Tourism is not the most important sector in thai economy but it plays nonetheless a key role in the income for the country. Numbers from last quarter are staggering. Asians, who count for the biggest numbers of tourist drop as this: Chinese -27.1%, Japanese -25.2%, Koreans -12.9%. ASEAN overall -27.7%. Thai Airways lost 9.7% of load factor and continue to post losses. Forecast for year end is a loss around 12 bn bt or 2.7 bn €. And the industry, the key sector in the country, is not in great shape as well mainly due to decreasing FDI over political concerns.
