Toward the end of my trip across the Atlantic I spent almost a week in San Diego with Adam Urbanskis Breakthrough event - it was amazing! I have been on a yearlong coaching programme with Adam and Marketing Mentors and though I havent got a raft of amazing financial success stories to show for it the shift in me has been massive and I was already aware of that. When I joined the programme I had no experience of sales at all and the folks in the group may as well have been speaking in Japanese or Russian when they spoke about lead generation or conversion rates or pretty much everything they spoke about. So I sat in on calls, way out of my comfort zone, stayed quiet so I didnt sound stupid, and listened. Then I started getting brave and asking questions even they if they were stupid... And I always got some great help - despite the fact that I was still not even being clear about what my business was or what I do :/ So when the Breakthrough event was just after I was going to be in Mexico for Earthdance I knew the gods were smiling on it :) So I came straight from (or almost straight from) the mountains of Mexico where I was in ceremony, fasting, and getting very little sleep, via a border crossing from Mexico that took more than four hours of seeing the power dynamics going on over people who live different sides of a line in the ground, and a ride on what is the dirtiest Greyhound bus Ive ever been on, to the five star Hilton Spa in San Diego - to say it was a shock to the system is an understatement!! As the week/5-days progressed something very interesting happened and by the time I left to travel home I was walking through San Diego airport and I recognised that my heart was wide open and it felt great. The only other time Ive experienced that level of open-heartedness was after receiving teachings from a Lama. Ive no doubt that it was a culmination of my whole journey, but who would have thought that a marketing and sales event would have cracked my heart open! I know this is in no small part a reflection of Adam and his wife Bo and the whole team they have built, and the folks who are drawn to work with them. I also know that I am deeply grateful to myself for taking the leap of faith to join the programme and to work with them.. I have a far better sense of my own value now and though I have been recognising for a long time that it makes no sense to keep exchanging time for money, I didnt know how to make that shift - now I do :) themarketingmentors/breakthrough/
