Towering 88-feet tall, the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will make a rare Milwaukee appearance on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Traveling from Minnesotas Chippewa National Forest to Washington, D.C. on a 33-city tour, the tree will debut in Cathedral Square Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- right across from Walter Schroeder Library. Over 600 students from 17 metro Milwaukee schools, will be on site for Community Spirit Park decorating, to greet the cross-country caravan. At 12 p.m., carols, greetings from elected officials and the U.S. Forest Service, a salute to all Armed Forces. All are welcome to join in the festivities and sign the 65-foot U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree banner that will be displayed in Washington, D.C.
