Town Planning Board Glen Burn Trail Forges Ahead Story by John Thomas Staff Writer At the Town Planning Board meeting Monday night Mr. Carl Calarco was on hand to show his latest drawings for the landscaping at Glen Burn Trail. Anybody who has driven by the property will have noticed the extensive grading and earth movement at the project. He explained the details of the drainage and grading for the property. The drainage has been a concern from the outset as the property lies in a flood plain. He also gave some details about the exterior look of the buildings. The pavers and the exterior stone on the buildings will be in monotone shades of gray. He submitted plans for the sign to be placed along the 219 entrance to the development. It will have a stone background with raised brushed aluminum letters. One of the board members asked him if the sign plans had been approved by the state DOT, since it will be along the roadside. He brought up that he is in a catch-22 situation. He said in trying to submit to the plans to the DOT they asked him if the Planning Board had approved the sign yet. Mr. Calarco said work on the buildings has been making “rapid progress.” He said that soon they should be completing one triplex and one duplex, and added that they would not be ready to show “for some time.” A motion was made to approve the sign plan with the provision that Mr. Calarco have the plans approved by the state DOT. The motion passed. There were no other items for consideration on the agenda, so the meeting was adjourned.
