ToysRUs Opportunity, Wayne, NJ, Director, IT Infrastructure - Solutions Delivery SUMMARY: The Director, Infrastructure - Solutions delivery is responsible for the planning, design, and management for our global infrastructure and technology standards, ensuring policies and procedures to support that area of the Information Technology department are adhered to. Directs and coordinates these activities through both direct and indirect staff, including relationship management of 3rd party providers, vendors, and consultants, and internal leaders. Coordinates and participates in special application support activities, manages special projects and all other related duties. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Talent Management: * Manages the internal and external staff on his/her team. Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of the internal team members to achieve both short-and long-term goals * Conducts periodic evaluations of professional staff to assess their performance against specific objectives and leadership competencies, as well as ensuring that all department standards / procedures are followed and maintained. * Understand the strategic talent needs of the organization and provide development opportunities for self and others to achieve personal and organizational objective * Forecasts service demands in order to anticipate staffing levels and resource needs, including the skill requirements needed, as well as the technology needs. * Manage Vendor relationships Strategic Planning and Projects: * Responsible for Infrastructure/technology roadmap for relevant areas. * As needed, will plan, organize and lead the execution of the projects and initiatives related to Solution Delivery team. * Responsible for communicating strategy and direction of the IT department to his/her team. * Facilitates the definition and scoping of potential projects. Estimates time and costs associated with technology related business opportunities. * Review and supports solution/project requests and assists with solution, analysis, design, and project cost estimations * Lead all project framework deliverables. Leads the team in project management principles and techniques. * Analyzes and documents current process. Facilitates definition of future process flow and document the requirements of that future process * Provide timely communications and/or reporting the status of all projects to senior IT leadership, and the business community. * Partners with the business user(s) to review and evaluate requests for technology solutions. QUALIFICATIONS Education: B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field; or, equivalent work experience. Experience: * 10+ years (minimum) experience, including the management of subordinates, and a minimum of 5-7 years of Project Management experience. * Effective problem solving and communication skills * Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: Retail technology, Infrastructure & Technology services Leadership: * Customer oriented and focused on entire organization when making decisions / recommendations. * Ability to garner respect and build collaborative relationships and teams. * Anticipates and resolves potential or emerging conflicts and disagreements. * Influences across boundaries to gain support for ideas that impact a wide range of stakeholders with diverse agendas and priorities. * Self-starter highly motivated demonstrating strong initiative and willingness to take lead in all business activities. * Ability to multitask in a complex global environment. * Excellent communication skills with customers, management and matrix team members. * Solid financial capability and ability to effectively optimize and impact a budget in excess of $5 - 10M. Technical: * Proven track record of directing projects with enterprise-wide impact on revenue and expenses. * Expertise in analysis, system design and project management * Demonstrated ability to develop and implement best-in-class processes both strategically and tactically. * Exceptional depth of process, methodology and procedure experience. * Strong analytical and strategic thinking.
