Tracing 1950s, a period when the education of Muslim girls, especially in rural Kerala, was in nascent phase a host of progressive minded& imaginative people of Erattupetta, M.K. Kochumarakkar Sahib, J.H.Meeravannan Rawathar, V.K.Pareed, M.K Sadhukutty haji, V.M.A Kareem, M. Abdul Kahadir sahib, M.Fareed, set out on the magnificent mission of the education up life of Erattupetta. Of course, things were not easy since the orthodox majority, were against Muslim feminine Education. Stern in their steps, the virtuous few, fought against this orthodox belief, set their goals & were ready to achieve it this JEWEL of Erattupetta, M.G.H.S.S, look to birth. Quite surprisingly .school started functioning before the completion of the building, in a small room near Erattupetta Co- operative Bank. However, their effort found fulfillment when the Muslim girls Higher Secondary School, Erattupetta, with an ideal idyllic academic, was formally inaugurated by Sri P.P. Ummarkoya on 21st June 1964.It indeed was a proud ,Golden moment for the people of Erattupetta.The function was blessed with eminent dignitaries including great scholar& Quran translator C.N. Ahmed Mavlavi, the them D.E.Q Pala, Vallakkulam Karunakaran Nair to mention a few. Which marked an explosion in women education. We gratefully commemorate the inspiration memory of the founding Manager, Mr. M.K. KOCHUMARAKKAR SAHIB (1964-1970), whose Vision & commitment to the cause of womens education was in no mean measure instruments in the genesis of this great centre of learning, P.P.Esakhan-Vice president, Secretary-V.M.A. Karim sahib, Treasurer-J.H. formed first managing committee M Pareed(Manager 1970-93) whose unsparing effort culminated in its up gradation – the fruition of a long cherished dream of everyone here about we are highly indicted to Prof. N.M. Joseph (Former Minister of forest) for his generous help on this score & Sri P.E. George, Govt. Chief Whip, for having been actively behind the allotment of additional batches for the Higher Secondary Section. Under the dynamic guidance of the former Manger Mr. M. Abdul Khader (1996-2005) the plus two courses acquired a fully fledged unit. The school started with High school section in 1964 & U.P. in 1967.At present its in full swing with 5-12 classes ,44 divisions, 2037 students ,77 teachers,& 8 non teaching staffs, with Smt. Remany T.G as the principal in charge & Smt. Geetha R as H.M. Smt. Rasiya V.A. adorned the post of Principal from the beginning of Higher Secondary Section. The First H.M in charge was Smt. S.Susheela while Retd. D.E.O N. Hawabeevi was our first H.M. the long 19 years as H.M. in worth mentioning following him were M. Sarala Devi Smt. Alice Jose, Smt. Shyamalakutty Anthaerjanam whose dedication & Devotion to this institution look it to great heights. The activities, various cultural programmes, competitions conducted by several clubs like science club, social science club, forestry, Maths, IT , Commerce association , flumanities association, Vidhyarangam Kerala Sahithya Vedi, Library club , Rashtra bhasha club , Civil service Aspirants club, club , Guiding unit, Health clu, Sargam, career club has attracted the attention of media to a great extent. The pride& glory being the Students Activity Frontage (SAF) whose service cannot be mentioned in words. This institution is facilitated with smart class rooms, Indoor court, Labs for all science subjects etc... The crowning glory of our institution being Safiya Hajumma IT block wroth Rs.7 core donated by Padmasree M.A. Yusuf Ali. We owe Dr. M.A. Muhammed, Director Kims Hospitals a deep debt of gratitude for his stellar rofe in enlisting padmasree M.A. Yusuf Ali for Safiya Hajumma IT block. The school celebrated its silver Jubilee during the scholastic year (1998-89) in the gracious presence of dignitaries like Sri .K. Chandrasekharan (Former Education Minister), Prof. N.M. Joseph (former forest Minister), the former supreme court justice Mrs. Fathima beevi , Dr C.A. Abdul salam (former pro vice -chancellor ,M.G. University ) to mention a few of them. Now, this jewel in on its verge of golden Jubilee celebrations. Muslim girls Higher Secondary, school is poised to scale greater heights under the resourceful of the incumbent Manager Prof.M.K. Pareed Nattakomband. The school has so far lit the light of learning in the life of over 14,000 scholars, which fill us with a sense of achievement. We soulfully praise & thank Allah, the most gracious, the most compassionate for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us.
