Track 3 - HIDE MYSELF. This is a very special song for me. We looked at the issue of bullying. Everyone at sometime in their life has experienced this. Sid and I talked about some really heavy stuff that we had both been carrying around. Some of it came from our childhood, and some of it was happening at that time. This was my chance to say how I felt and have someone who could really sing, deliver the message. This vocal is at the top of my list of ‘Best Ever Vocal Performances’ No tuning, no over the top production or dropping in all over the place, it’s real. Keep that in mind when you listen and wait for the top note at the end of the bridge, frikin’ incandescent! The pitch unbelievable a bit like when Streisand holds those glorious long notes and we all go “What the…..?” Now this was recorded in our converted garage. We thought it was pretty flash Ha ha! At this stage Sid and Mel were regular visitors and sometimes Sid’s brother or Dad as well. I would always cook a feed and Sid would bring the soft drinks. A2 was in heaven, food and music. A lot of fun! This was the beginning of what would become our singing/songwriting course. We had discovered a way of tapping into the experiences of a person and putting it into song alongside them.
