Track Tuesday will again be at Northside Middle School tonight. Its a fartlek workout (stop laughing! Its a Swedish term for speed play). The workout runs as follows: Warm-up on your own. 1-2 sets (6:00,3,5,2,4,1) w/2:00 easy jog between. + 1:00 in middle of each interval at 5k pace. So 6 minutes hard at 10k effort, 2:00 easy jog, 3:00 at 10k effort. However, in all your hard intervals, you spice it up with :60 at 5k effort to make it a true fartlek. The best part of this is that the group you are with doesnt have to do this on the track. So this is one of the few workouts that we have the option to leave the track and do since its run based on effort and not actual splits. Its a fun one!
