Trackcyclingsa club returned from the track nationals in Durban with our best medal haul ever. The event took place at the Cyril Geoghegan stadium from 29 April – 3 May 2014. Wayne Roberts, Peter Wheeler, Brett Roberts, Pierre Slabbert, Coen Pretorius, Christhonie Geldenhuys, Debbie Loffell-Dawson, Hendrik Grobbelaar, Brandon Christiaans and Jaco Scholtz completed the line-up in Durban. These riders collected 29 medals between them. This is only the second time that the club competed at nationals. Last year the club earned 15 medals in Cape Town. This year the club had 5 riders pulling on national champions jerseys compared to 4 the previous year. The following riders won national titles at the event: Debbie Loffell-Dawson: match sprint, tt, points, scratch and 1500m (ladies 35-39) as well as ladies team pursuit. Jaco Scholtz: tt (masters 40-44) and masters team pursuit. Peter Wheeler: pursuit, 1500m and points (masters 40-44) as well as masters team pursuit. Wayne Roberts: tt (masters 45-49) and masters team pursuit. Hendrik Grobbelaar: masters team pursuit.
