Trade Compliance Supervisor: Details: JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for ensuring and managing compliance activities effectively and efficiently in the current international markets & emerging new markets. Key responsibilities are in four major areas: (1) Coordination of efforts to meet and maintain high performance levels for import/export requirements, (2) Focus and continuous development on comprehensive compliance programs with Global Trade Compliance Team, (3) Coordination of efforts to meet and maintain acceptable performance levels with regards to compliance objectives, (4) assisting & improving with the management of policies and procedures. This (candidate) should be capable to make decision independently where required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Subject matter expert on trade / Customs law and regulations enforced by US Customs & other Customs authority, Export Administration Regulations, and any other special trade program, as required. Support, manage & enforce compliance initiatives & implements policies and procedures compliantly with on company policies and operational procedures, Customs /WTO/WCO regulations, HTS classification structure and worldwide equivalents, customs duties and refunds, global/regional import tax/duty reduction programs, and export requirements. Managing & develop a robust auditing process, government audits, and internal / external controls for import and export, including first sales management. Monitor audit on import and export entry filings, including first sales; resolve discrepancies, request corrective action customs administrative entry submission as appropriate; transaction valuation verification methodology based upon dutiable or non-dutiable items; such as assists and royalties, etc. Participate in the review, develop and determine HTS codes metrics system in Global level within TOMS and external parties. Maintains Global Duty Matrix for all products by region & manage this task through multiple software platforms: SAP / ERP, Integration Point, and Customs broker. Identify, analyze and determine trade & duty saving opportunities. Assist with compliance training for import, export, and other trade programs as well as assist in establishing and creating a regional Supply Chain Security programs such as C-TPAT & AEO. Communicate with internal and external customers/vendors, freight forwarders/customs brokers, government agencies and other functional areas to ensure coordination of imports and exports. Keep abreast of all legislative and regulatory changes. QUALIFICATIONS Thorough knowledge of and experience with US, Canada, Mexico, EU import and export regulations is highly beneficial. The proven ability to prepare and obtain commodity jurisdictions, import/export licenses, technical assistance agreements is mandatory for this position. Technical expertise in trade (import and export) regulations, classifications, valuation, country of origin, duty preference programs and suspension regimes, sanctioned party screening and trade restrictions (anti-boycotts). A broad business acumen with strong emphasis on leadership and teamwork is required. Excellent analytical, audit, organization skills including ability to collect, structure, analyze and communicate data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English). Strong computer skills. A pro-active self-starter who is able to work independently. Ability and desire to work in highly dynamic and changing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Hold a customs broker license Qualifications and Requirements: Education : BS/BA in Logistics, International Trade, Business or equivalent experience. Experience : Minimum of 5-7 year of international trade / Customs compliance experience or operations. Knowledge / Skills / Ability : Familiar with Customs documentation and import/export experience is a plus. Strong computer skills, including MS excel, access, and SAP. Ability to work both as an individual and in a team environment to resolve issues. Must be well organized, detail oriented, and multi-task Effective communication as well as good verbiage and writing skill. Footwear experience is A plus.
