Trader Joes forced out by black activist in Portland, Oregon....The company had tried since 1999 to bring a low cost food store to an impoverished area where no store previously existed....They agreed to have the store built by minority (Black) contractors....it and two Anchor stores...they were to pay minority employees a minimum of $10 to $20 per hour, thats above the $7.15 minimoum, the highest in the industy...they were to provide low cost food items undercutting many larger chain grocery stores...the store would have increased surrounding property values...the proposal was abandoned by Traders Joes because it was rejected by the community because it would have attracted too many white shoppers....so whos the racists?
