However, the bank that I purchase the stock from deals with interest and “riba”. Are my stocks “haram” because the initiating bank deals with matters of haram, such as interest? Please advise. What matters here is the contract between you and the bank. If you buy from them stocks that are halal, then it is fine. Certainly, if you find a sharia compliant institution that would sell to you the same stocks at the same price, then you should patronize and support their business vs. that which is not compliant.
