Traffic Advisory: Daytime closures on US 60 at Salt Lick beginning Tuesday FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2014) – Motorists using US 60 near Salt Lick in Bath County will encounter daytime detours for about a week beginning Tuesday, Aug. 5, as crews make repairs to the state highway. Crews will work weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 5 through approximately Aug. 12, weather permitting, to correct a landslide along Salt Lick Creek with US 60 closed during those hours at the work site – located just to the Owingsville side of the KY 211 south intersection at Salt Lick. The highway will reopen overnight each weekday, and be open all day Saturday and Sunday. During closure times, thru traffic should detour using I-64 between Exit 123 at US 60 Owingsville and Exit 133 at KY 801, which will take traffic to and from US 60. For local traffic, the roadway will remain open up to either side of the work site. To reach Salt Lick, and KY 211 south, motorists should detour through Olympia from the west (Owingsville) side or through Farmers from the east side. Elsewhere in Bath County, US 60 just west of Owingsville is one lane at the site of a recent culvert replacement project –between North Stepstone Road and Bob-O-Link Drive – with traffic controlled by temporary signals. The road will remain one lane for approximately the next two weeks. Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
