Traffic crash, officer injured, Pimpama A police officer sustained minor leg injuries after he was struck by a vehicle at Pimpama this morning. Preliminary investigations indicate that the male sergeant was performing traffic enforcement operations northbound on the M1 at Exit 49 around 7.30am when the incident occurred. The 57-year-old sergeant, who was struck by a utility while standing on the side of the road conducting radar operations, was transported to hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man, was not injured and is currently assisting police with their investigations.
