Tragedy unfolds. How do we think throwing rocks at armies will defeat those who do not fear dying for their cause. and whose ranks are swelling even from our own country? How dare we think that AMERICA alone can bring about a different resolution? Why would we try ALONE? Our missiles and bombs are little more than big rocks. Only boots on the ground will contain and suppress ISISs army of 15,000. It must be IRAQI and ARAB and IRANIAN and EGYPTIAN and TURKISH and KURDISH boots on the ground, not American. Unless they arise, the genocide is inevitable. Because if those nations do not arise to defend their soil and sovereignty, ISIS will certainly sweep over the land as did the SARAZENS, unless God intervenes. God is ALMIGHTY, and sovereign. Nothing happens in history without his permission. Jesus said that the end times would be perilous. Certainly ISIS activities and threats would qualify. So for what ESCHATOLOGICAL purpose has God allowed ISIS to arise? The world will see as history unfolds. Perhaps this is the prelude to the Apocalypse which will lead to Har-Meggido. GOD ONLY KNOWS, but be certain that GOD KNOWS, and NOTHING is happening without HIS permission. So, is it for us to sit by and allow ISIS to proceed? Hardly, for it contradicts the Gospel to idly allow genocide to proceed, whether by HITLER against the minorities (chiefly Jews) for ethnic cleansing in the 1930s and 40s; or the Khymer Rouge of Cambodia in the 1960s and 70s, who have been brought to justice, finally; or now by ISIS as they are imposing SHARIA law at the point of a sword and killing untold hundreds or thousands. Yet do not be surprised if our best efforts are not in vain, if this is the Apocalypse. Dire things are foretold for that period. My theology, my reading of prophecy is that the Church will not be present during that period, but will be taken up suddenly: As Jesus described, written in Luke 17:22-37, especially vs. 34-36 34 I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left. 36 [Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”] And as Paul described to the Thessalonians (1 Thess. 4:13-17]. 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain (in bed resting, or working at the mill grinding, or laboring in the field) until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. Jesus had promised the disciples on the evening of the Last Supper, that although He had to leave, He would return (John 14:1-3) “Do not let your heart be troubled; [a]believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. So on this day in this era of wars and rumors of wars in every corner of the world, let us place our hope in HIM. On this first day of the week, let us celebrate HIM in worship in spirit and in truth. Let us serve HIM. Let us walk worthy of HIM. Let us live in the awareness of HIS presence and HIS imminent personal, bodily return. This could be the day. Could it be that THIS would be the day that starts eternity, the day that weve been waiting for so long? Could it be that yet today the King of Kings would turn and say, Lift up your trumpet! Sound it loud and strong! and that Christ might return as He promised? If not today, surely soon. SELAH.
