Trailmasters Report 1/4/2015 Its currently 31 degrees and freezing rain is falling. We received 4 inches of snow topped with a layer of ice pellets. Temps are forecasted to increase during the day a fall dramatically starting tomorrow. Overall this is good news. We are not going to groom today, but will wait for the base to lock up with tonights freezing temps and head out tomorrow. If this snow has fallen on any remaining base-snow that we have left, it should groom up pretty well. If the snow fell on frozen ground, it wont groom up quite as nice and well simply chop it up with the tracks so it will collect and trap any new snow that falls. We have said the trails are closed due to sparse snow cover, but with the new snow, folks may want to ride. Gates are open. Ride at your own risk as we have not been out to survey the trails. Be on the look out for open water, ice, low spots, etc. We expect very thin snow conditions on the trail leading from the southern end of Newfound Lake. And, we advise, do not attempt to travel on the lake one any body of water as ice is too thin for safe travel. We will report back tomorrow with an update from the cabin of the BR180...have fun and be careful. bridgewatermtnsmc.org/dailymap.htm
