Train Smart With Striders TIP #1 Avoid stripping valuable muscle tissue by training correctly. It needs to be noted, there are only three ways to define a muscle – 1. Lose body fat to reveal the muscle, 2. Increase the muscle girth, and 3. Doing both, lose body fat and increase muscle girth. The problem with just doing the first option, which is to lose body fat only, is that the body will not discriminate. In time it will happily strip muscle tissue as well. The end result is most often a smaller gaunt looking version of yourself, rather than an improved athletic one that has heads turning. And when you break down this valuable muscle tissue you are depressing your metabolic rate that is responsible for the torching of unwanted fat. In turn, you will constantly struggle to keep the weight off. I can guarantee that most people in this predicament will end up in the vicious weight cycling mode, which will have them yo-yo-ing their weight. Research suggests that weight cycling is actually more detrimental to your health than maintaining one fixed weight. So, if you are one of those who participate in regular outdoor/boot- camp type training, long distance running, aerobic dance classes, not participating in strength training, and wish to avoid the trap of wasting time and money in the process of trying to achieve a great looking physique then you seriously need to consider this. Don’t let anyone tell you that activities such as tyre flipping, band/rope exercises, and so forth will grow muscle tissue. You will see little to no change in muscle growth as the mode of exercise will not stimulate all necessary muscles with enough resistance to elicit any great change. Tyre flipping is a great way to risk squashing intervertebral discs in a person’s back and damaging knee cartilage. If a person sees their muscles toning up in the early stages of training, you can bet it’s fat being burnt revealing the muscle more so than any good gains in muscle growth. To make your training even more effective and efficient, stay tuned for “Striders Smart Training” tip #2.
