Train from Yangon to Mandalay. Sleeper-train it said on the ticket. Not a minute slept on the train. More like a roller coaster than train if you ask me, it was not once or twice my whole body was 10-20cm up in the air just to come crashing back down into the 1cm thin mattress. 15 hours of semi-asleep lucid dreaming of falling down from stuff. At least I had a spider the size of my palm to accompany me on my top bunk. The next morning delivered more gold than I have ever witnessed, seeing the sun rise over the mountains and the rice paddies was like starring into one of the golden pagodas for too long. The most surreal thing about the trip was that a boy choir was singing in the speakers on one of the stations, no-one got off or on at that station, the train just stopped to listen for a few minutes. Tips were given and the train continued. The craziest train-ride I have yet to experience.
