Training programme for the revising authority of voter list of Chittagong region held at the regional server station Chittagong. The updating of voter list started throughout the country in May 2014 in three phases. Registration of newly enrolled voters was completed in November, 2014. Date of nearly 4.7 million new voters were uploaded in the central data base of the Election Commission and cross matched with the existing voters through AFIS ( Automatic Fingerprint Identification Systems). A draft list of new voters will be published following statutory requirements on 2 January, 2015 throughout the country. The draft list will be available for inspection at the office of the registration officers ( Upazila/ thana Election Officers), District Election Officers, Union Parishad , City Corporation Ward office, Cantonment board offices and in the office of the revising authority ( in most cases UNOs), in some cases ADC/ADM, REO or DEO). People can visit these offices and inspect the list.From January 2 through 17 , 2015 application can be submitted to the revising authority for inclusion in the voter list if some one is left out or any ones application is rejected by the registration officer. Complaints can also be made to the same authority against any illgal inclusion in the list.If you know someone is not eligible to be a voter but has already been registered as a voter and whose name appeared in the draft, you can lodge a complaint if you are a voter of the same voter area. For example, if you know some foreign national is registered as a voter, it would be appreciated if you lodge a complaint against him. Besides, application may also be made to get any information corrected...The revising authority will also consider the transfer applications. All applications must be made within 17 January, 2015. The revising authority will dispose of the applications by 22 January, 2015 and submit a report to the Commission by 25 January. Final voter list will be published on 31 January , 2015.
