Tramore set to Twinkle brighter this Christmas 2014 :-) Phewwwww ...now that Halloween is out of the way we can let the cat out of the bag ! We are very happy to announce our Christmas 2014 Plans ! Tramore Tourism the soon to be Tramore Chamber of Tourism& commerce is very pleased to announce this year Tramore town will twinkle that bit brighter. Following on from Tramore Tourism and Waterford Chamber conversations with the council a substantial investment has been secured for the lighting up for Tramore this year . New Led lights will be erected from O’Neills bar down the entire Main Street queen street strand street as far as osheas hotel , with lights coming along branch road to the sands hotel area this is the largest coverage of lights Tramore has ever seen , Tramore Tourism would like to thank all the contributors to the lights for the Town in previous years Anne Cheasty in Tidy Towns , John Culbert , Eamon Mc Cormack , to name a few have gone above & beyond each year to ensure that the a set of lights were put up and working in previous years. Our committee believe the support & investment from the council is a huge step in the right direction , in creating the right atmosphere which is key for continued economic development , during the festive season expectations are higher among consumers , now Tramore will be in a better position to compete with those expectations , this year the lights are one component of a bigger plan we have decided to erect for the 1st time a giving tree in the town and the events team are already working on a lightening up event for everybody to get out and support & enjoy . The Lightening up ceremony will take place throughout the town on Dec 3rd from 6pm-8pm on Main street with the giving tree being lit up 8-9pm . Tramore Tourism are calling on all businesses locally to help us maximize the impact and get their businesses lit up this year before December 3rd 2014 . Our incentive for lightning up the Town we are calling ‘Deck the Hills’ Businesses in the town should get excited about these developments! Lets think of further creative ways to excite visitors when they visit the town. We Tramore Tourism believe Tramore is full of dynamic business people and in equal measure creative people , collectively if everybody uses the resources to hand Tramore should be the envy of any town in the region with the input from everybody it can easily be achieved . We are calling on residents to shop local and businesses to put our best side out this year with the help of the council who have engaged on we are pushing an open door. Our marketing campaign for this event & for Tramore as an destination in addition to the strong Winterval product will be the catchy jingle … ‘Tra la la la la la la ‘ Be sure to tweet and share this catchphrase on Facebook :-) For this festive season Tramore can be a place of full of character & ambiance this can be can be built further by you the members taking part in extended business hours up the main street until 8pm -9pm to make your service available for our visitors it is important to keep opening hours consistent with that of Waterford city and for flexibility for shoppers . •Paddy O Neill who now heads up our Environmental enhancement layer can assist you with ideas on lighting up your business he is also working with derelict building owners to improve those cosmetics over Christmas , Paddy can be 0876739768 •Stephen Mullally who leads our Community development layer is working with Community, school groups etc to help get them involved if you group would like to get involved please contact Stephen on 0894160601 •Keith Daniels as an event co-coordinator alongside the events team Alan Dooley , Neil Kelly , Noel O Neill , Mona Murphy they working to build an exciting event but will need all your ideas and help to make the biggest impact he can be contacted on 0831506006 A meeting to discuss all is taking Place in O Sheas Hotel This Friday Nov 7th @ 8pm - be sure to come along thrown out your ideas and listen to what we have planned :-) #Excitedforxmas2014 #TRALALALALALA WWW.TRAMORE.IE
