Transformation Tuesday! So I never do these things. I really dont, - TopicsExpress

Transformation Tuesday! So I never do these things. I really dont, but I was asked to speak out on how I really feel about royalty and representing a community through things such as Western Fest and Fiesta Royalty. So, to begin with I was a candidate for Western Fest my senior year, an opportunity to represent my community. Sounded like a pretty good reason, right? Well, to be honest, I did not want to do it whatsoever. I didnt want to have to compete or go up against anybody for a silly little crown. In life you compete for jobs, grades and the biggest competitor you could ever go up against is yourself. My two reasons for doing Western Fest: my amazing, beautiful, smart and strong best friend, who didnt want to do this all alone. #2: my little sassy, sometimes (maybe a lot of times) annoying, silly sister. I wanted to give her the chance I got at her age. My first transformation Tuesday picture in blue is ME from 2003 (3rd-4th grade) as Fiesta Jr. Princess. Let me just say, it was the best experience of my entire life. I learned so much. At this time, jr. princesses did just as much as the older royals: tons of public speaking, learning etiquette and poise, and how to be a great representative. How I got picked for this? There was no competition. It was completely by luck of the draw. Whichever girl got the box with the bracelet inside was jr. Princess. For the prince, it was a medallion. (If I remember correctly). The difference between then and now is that I didnt stick my royalness in the rest of the girls faces. Back to Western Fest, during the week that had led up to the pageant was just fine. I had a great time. The past royals were really supportive and great to all of us ladies. The practice round before the pageant however was not. Competition really takes the best out of people. During the practice round, the royals RANDOMLY picked who won during practice. One of them was me and another person who didnt actually win a crown. The rest of the girls had thrown a fit. Why? Because were girls and society makes us whiny when we dont get our way. Its the honest truth. My truthful thought about royalty: They should all be little girls or boys because they are the future. They are OUR future. If you can teach people (girls and boys) to learn how to be respectful and know how to represent our communities and country at an early age, then I think wed have a better world. #TransformationTuesday
