Transmap to Begin Inventory of 2,550 Miles of Pavement The Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization (EMPO), in cooperation with the City of Evansville, City of Henderson, and Vanderburgh, Warrick and Henderson counties, has hired Transmap Corporation to perform a thorough inventory and assessment of the 2,550 centerline miles of pavement and roadway assets in the three-county area. Using their state-of-the-art mobile mapping vehicle and highly skilled project management team, Transmap is assisting the EMPO and city/county officials in determining the best strategies for managing their pavement programs and more. Transmap is a national provider of professional, technical, and management support services to the transportation industry. Transmap utilizes the latest technologies, which includes their new 4K Laser Crack Measurement System (LCMS), so they can collect the most in-depth information available. With their specialty in mobile data collection, processing, and inventory of pavement and roadway assets, Transmap provides an incomparable customer-centric approach to go above and beyond their client’s expectations. Transmap will spend two months in the three-county area driving both sides of the roadways gathering detailed measurements in order to deliver the most extensive data possible. A media event has been scheduled for October 2, 2014 as part of the regularly scheduled EMPO Policy Committee meeting.
