Transparency International ranks Nepal at 139th position in its Corruption Index Nepal is ranked 139th out of 174 nations in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) published by the Transparency International (TI). Nepal received a score of 27 in the CPI. Transparency International is a global corruption watchdog. A score of zero is perceived to be highly corrupt in the CPI. According to Bishnu Bahadur KC, chairman of TI-Nepal, Nepal is in the list of highly corrupt countries. Earlier, a study conducted by another international organization had stated that the country’s politicians are seen as the most corrupt by its citizens. The lease corrupt countries with scores of 90 were Denmark, Finland and New Zealand. Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia with scores of 8 were ranked as the most corrupt nations in the world.
