Transparent Moment: Its ok to have role models in ministry. However, may I suggest that its nothing like being who God created you to be. I know the tragedy of trying to be someone else. It almost destroyed my ministry, but God was gracious enough to send someone in my life who said, Newton, be the gift God made you to be in the earth. As long as I was trying to be who already existed I couldnt grow into the man of God that I was created to be. Stop preaching other peoples messages/sermons, worship leaders stop trying to sing it just like you hear others sing it, musician please play with skill and under the anointing, and please lets all operate in what weve been anointed to operate in. This isnt to discredit spiritual fathers, mentors or role models because I serve in like capacities. We must learn to be authentic if we expect the anointing to be demonstrated in our lives. YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made. Be comfortable with who you are, allow someone to develop you in ministry and let God be glorified as you be the best you that you can be.
