Transportation Manager Job Summary -Added: January 23, 2014 -Contract Type: Permanent, -Duration: Permanent -Remuneration: Negotiation -Qualification: Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Transportation and Logistics Management or Related field -Experience: 3 - 4 years experience -Location: Dar es salaam -Closing Date: 2014-01-30 -Job Level: Junior, Skilled Duties And Responsibilities 1) Tracks loading and offloading according to the load time 2) Prepare trucks for refuel and load aggregate 3) Make sure all trucks are serviced 4) Train drivers on how to maintain safety and health 5) Prepare monthly report for fuel and trips of aggregates for the payment 6) Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements. 7) Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaint 8) Implement schedule and policy changes. 9) Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles and cars 10) Responsible for getting the right products in the right quantities, to the right locations all at the right time. 11) In charge of the day to day operations of the transport department. 12) Efficiently managing a team of drivers and vehicles. 13) Responsible for all of the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles. 14) Dispatching complex and oversize goods to national and international destinations. 15) Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures 16) Managing, monitoring and developing a team of drivers and line managers. 17) Involved in strategic development and strategy making. 18) Being the first point of contact for all drivers. 19) Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced. 20) Arranging for the induction and training off all new staff. 21) Regularly liaising with the delivery manager to ensure a smooth running of both departments. 22) Developing and nurturing customer relationships. 23) Maintaining accurate administrative records. 24) Organizing vehicle checks. 25) Identifying operational issues, potential problems and opportunities. 26) Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently. 27) Appraising staff performance and also taking disciplinary measures when required. 28) Ensuring all site and customer objectives are achieved. 30) And all other duties assigned by the management Qualification 1) Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Transportation and Logistics Management or Related field 2) 3 - 4 years progressive experience in similar position of Transportation Manager in a Transportation Firm Welcome | Vipaji Link vipajilink Seeking for a job?
