Treasure Hunt I remember reading about the story of a man who bought a painting at a flea market for eighteen dollars. It was a simple painting but the frame was of interest to him. After going back home, he proceeded to remove the canvas when a piece of paper tucked inside caught his eye. As he carefully extracted the document, he was amazed to find one of only four original copies of the Declaration of Independence, which he in turn sold for over four million dollars. Our frame is what we are made of in the natural. In our lives, and the lives of others, we need to remove the frame to discover the wealth tucked inside. As we are loosed from bonds that are part of our natural frame, the freedom we have in Christ unfolds. Walking in truth and liberty is a discovery process. It’s like being on a treasure hunt. One revelation leads to another to take us to the riches we have in Christ. When our frame does not appear valuable, we go to the Word of God. The hidden wealth in the Word of God unfolds as we dig deeper and deeper. A scripture appearing simple, often carries an unseen treasure of wisdom. Who we are and what we have in Christ is unwrapped as we go and grow from glory to glory! 2 Corinthians 4:7 “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” © 2014 at blog: drjoelle.org/
