Treat; one of my most favorite songs off the 1969 debut self-titled debut studio album by Santana! The seventh of the nine original studio tracks off the album. I love how this instrumental improvisation starts off with a soft swinging jazz piano melody before the beat instantly morphs into a hard, raw Afro-Cuban rhythmic groove full of scratching guiros, clanking cowbells, timbales and other percussion all under the direction of the leading guitar of Carlos Santana himself; and then returning back to its soft swinging jazz tempo before the end. I cant believe its now been over thirteen years since I first heard this song when I first got this album from Media Play back in January of 2002. Still feels like it was just yesterday when I first listened to this track. Ive been rocking to this track for so long. A classic musical masterpiece indeed! :D (y)
