Trees, Buttermere Back Story Buttermere is one of my favourite waters in the Lake District. It’s location is in a quiet part of the Lakes, and normally accessed for me via either Honister Pass, Newlands Valley or Whinlatter Pass (from Keswick). It’s a peaceful water and has the added attraction of Crummock Water that sits to the north. These trees that line the south side of the water look absolutely beautiful in the autumnal mist early morning. The dramatic views of Fleetwith Pike and the Haystacks that stand guard at the south side dominate the views. There’s a great little white outdoor centre building that sits alongside the trees on the south side that’s worth shooting complete with a great multi seat wooden bench that allows you to take a minute or two to take in the lake views. Parking in the main car park that belongs to the farm opposite (£3.00 all day), take the path alongside the farm and head towards the stone bridge (west) with the lake to your right. There’s a path that will take you all around the lake and I would suggest heading down at dawn and simply watch the world come alive. Remember, if you do visit and capture some images, feel free to share them on this page.
