Trekking in Chile – Sendero de Chile – Pukara de Saxamar The Pucará Saxamar is a historical monument of archaeological character located in the village of Belén. Apucara is a prehispanic construction of stone, dating back to the year 1325 ± 70 d. C. The Pucara counts with an incompletewall, and nearly 200 circular structures. The trail of approx. 3,5 km starts in the village of Saxamar (3,100 m.a.s.l. ). Along the way you can appreciate woody shrub species as well as cacti and, depending on the time of the year, various grasses and bulbs.
