Trent has been playing on two flag football teams this season: One is the Lions, who play in the Menehune division (Pre-K, K, and 1st grade), and the other is the Rams, who play in the Imua division (2nd/3rd grade). So to say my expectations for the Rams were tempered would be an understatement. Basically, my hope was that we would not get mercy ruled for ALL of the games. I thought if we could avoid mercy rule a few times, that would be a successful season. I didnt expect us to score, and I didnt expect wed get very many first downs -- our team is comprised of 3 kindergarteners, 2 first graders, and my nieces are the oldest players at 2nd grade when the season started. These boys and girls have blown me away with how well theyve played, hung tough against kids who are two, and sometimes three years older than them, and developed as players and as a team. And today was extra sweet, personally, with Trent getting to throw 2 touchdown passes to his cousin Brie! Heres the first one of them.
