Tres Reyes Islands (view from Mahunig, Gasan: Left to right - Gaspar, Melchor, Baltazar) Tres Reyes is a famous island destination in Marinduque which is under the jurisdiction of Gasan. It is named after the three Kings, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltazar. But among the three islands, only Gaspar has a beach. All others have steep cliffs and nothing to dock with. It is my second time here and we also spent a night in the island. There is no electricity but there are cottages (for rent). The beach is not made of sand, you will literally walk in small pieces of white corals (had difficulty walking especially whenever the corals get between my feet and slippers. There are comfort rooms but sad to say, its in really bad condition. There are residents in this island, I think that is where my cousins were able to rent an aladin that we used throughout the night. Night swimming is not advisable because of the very strong current in this island. Knee deep siya pag high tide up to waist I think (thats how far I can go). We tried walking on it (high tide) pero di ako nagtagal kasi masyado malakas yung current sa area na ito at ayoko naman madala ng agos away sa tulay na lupa na ito, because few steps to the right or left, biglang lalim na ulit at sobrang malalim na talaga. So everytime me and my cousins try to walk here, expect to hear somebody shouting at us to go back, our mothers. My dad tried to go as far as he can, hes a good swimmer anyway but still residents here doesnt encourage it so you swim at your own risk.
