The 1.5mile (or 2.4km) run, is actually a modification of the ‘Cooper Test’ which involved a person or unit running as far as possible within 12 minutes, and the distance covered within that period was used as the Unit benchmark. The run must be conducted over an approved route. This Competition is designed to record Unit or individual times over a distance of 1.5 miles (2.4km). Only Tri-Service personnel who have entered and registered on the Support 4 Forces ‘Tri-Service Top Dog’ web site will be recorded. Individual Entries: • Individuals must be entered by the Unit’s Senior Physical Training Instructor and endorsed by the Unit’s Commanding Officer. • All individual entries must be submitted by Wednesday the 30 April 2014. Unit Entries: • All Unit entries must consist of individuals who have entered and donated the £2.00 entry fee to the Support 4 Forces charity. • Unit entries must have a minimum of 60, and a maximum of 90 participants. • All individuals within a unit entry accumulate a 0.5 second deduction from the unit’s time. • A unit with 60 entries gains a deduction of 30 seconds from their average unit time; a unit with 90 entries gains a deduction of 45 seconds from their average Unit time. • If we have a tied event then the Support 4 Forces judging panel will award the winning unit by aggregating the fastest 5 individual scores from the tied units. • All Unit entries must be submitted by Wednesday the 30th of April 2014. Results of the Support 4 Forces Tri Service Fitness Challenge will be announced in all the Forces Magazines and the Dec 2014 addition of the Muscle and Fitness Magazine. • All times to be recorded by qualified Tri-service Physical Training Instructors (PTI). • All times must be entered within 7 days of completion. • All participants in unit entries must be assigned on JPA to that unit. • All unit entries must all run together. • There are no limits on the number of unit attempts.
