Tributes to the parents. Aside from the wedding vow itself, that - TopicsExpress

Tributes to the parents. Aside from the wedding vow itself, that is one of the most important element to a modern-Indonesian/Chinese wedding. Being a part of a collective culture, where respecting the elders is one of the things most taught since childhood, it is not unusual to see couples publicly asking the blessings of their parents before they are actually joined together as one. In fact, it would be strange if they didn’t do this. Tributes come in many forms. Some couples like to ask their blessings in private, I mean not with a microphone on hand, just a one-on-one exchange of words. Some speak it loud for everyone to hear. But I rarely see one who duets and perform as a part of this ceremonious event. This is the first I’ve seen, at Frederick and Stella’s wedding, where she played the piano and he sang for the parents from both sides. The whirlwind of emotions is undeniable, setting everyone who witnessed to shed happy tears. It was truly an emotional moment, a beautiful one, which I think that they will remember for a really long time. We believe that blessings from parents sets newlyweds on a lifetime of marital success. If we were to judge from what happened in this video, Frederick and Stella are set for eternal marital bliss. Congratulations, lovebirds. 6 years ago, your life began when you met each other, and with this, a new life has just began for you, together. I wish you all the happiness this world has to offer and beyond. Cheers, Dimar
