Tried to make sticky white (Japanese) rice last night. I bought my high quality rice at the Japanese store and everything! Alas, it came out a little too sticky, almost mushy. Ate it anyway but :-( I did follow the directions! Well, in my defense, the directions were incomplete. Said to rinse 2-3 times before cooking. I did. Said to soak 30 minutes before cooking. I did. But then it gave no directions re proportion of rice to water, after soaking, nor timing for cooking purposes. Guess it assumes everyone has a rice cooker. News flash - We dont have a rice cooker!
