Tried to see the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon in Ft. Lauderdale last week. $154 each for orchestra tickets; $12 to park; and a $50 handling fee to get the tickets. Seems the handling fee - for tickets sold directly by the Performing Arts Center, not a ticket re-seller, is 18% of the ticket cost. Shame on them: this is strictly part of the price and should be revealed as such. And it applies if you buy the tickets in person, by phone, or online -- that pretty much sews it up!
