Tried watching Selma, but it was not enjoyable. It has its failings, sure, the actor playing King cant even touch that powerful oration, for instance, but its by no-means a bad movie. Its probably even a good movie. I dont know if Im plagued by boring ol white guilt, national guilt, general and/or unrelated guilt (Im guilty by nature), or the sad knowledge that, while progress has been made, black people are still being gassed, beaten, and murdered in the streets fifty years later. Its just not fun to watch. I know its not supposed to be, but its just too big a bummer for me today. Maybe Im supposed to be inspired, but I cant hang in to find out, and if I recall correctly Dr. King doesnt exactly retire and peacefully live out his days playing shuffleboard in Boca. Theres some very cheap-looking Hulk cartoons on Netflix calling my name. #MLKsmash
