Trigger Warning - trigger warning. Sorry I just dont get it. People feeling the need for all content to come with a warning. Doesnt the act of reading the warning have the same emotive response anyway, especially when people want such accurate tagging? ie, if you have an eating disorder and an article about eating disorders has a TW - anorexia, ED, food, ect, then by reading that warning havent you already been brought around to thinking about it, and hence the warning been made redundant? I honestly think society has gone loopy trying to provide a sterile environment for every individual and the umpteenth potential combinations of hang ups any particular person may have. Life doesnt come with trigger warnings, thats the cold reality. We cant parental advisory the world. Its yet another move away from the responsibility of the individual, and instead another attempt to blame EVERYBODY and ANYBODY else for someones personal issues. A persons personal issues are just that, theirs. Its their matter to deal with and resolve, and they need to workout how to function in society with those issues, society doesnt need to learn how to function around them so they can avoid confronting and dealing with their problem. Thats not recovery, its denial.
