Trigger; anything, as an act or event, that serves as a stimulus and initiates or precipitates a reaction or series of reactions. A trigger warning is a word of caution that precedes a possible trigger and informs others of what is roughly going to be said. Why are trigger warnings important? Is using a trigger warning a valid method for helping those with PTSD, OCD and Chronic Anxiety prevent mental breakdowns or does it allow people to opt out of conversations that make them uncomfortable?
