Trip to Glasgow. Starting off at Carlisle Mr Branson is depicted in a poster that is dusted off each year. When as the last time a Virgin XC IC125 last graced Carlisle Citadel? 390005 arrived into GLC right time - £16 return fare from Carlisle which is very good value. Central Station is now a very impressive edifice and Network Rail have spent a lot of money making it so. One of the best stations in the county - and one of the busiest. Off to The Peoples Palace on Glasgow Green - a museum about people and not nobs. The impressive coloured brick building used to be a carpet factory. It has a good bar on the left of the picture. Then on to Trongate. Argyll and Buchanan and Sauchihall Street - Glasgows Style Mile, not forgetting Wellington with the obligatory traffic cone on his head. It was a golden one in July. I then wobbled off to Kelvingrove and listened to an organ recital at13:00. The Spitfire was the Glasgow Spitfire funded by contributions from Glaswegians. There is a Brew Dog opposite. It was early, I had not come into a lottery windfall so I did not go in (hello Sarah Greenan).
