TripAdvisor Alert! Terrific museum and staff” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014 I am a 4th grade teacher who has visited St. Augustine multiple times as well as the museum for the past 3 years. I have to say I learn something new each time and my students are always enthralled with the artifacts, historical anecdotes, and the overall environment of the museum. Our curriculum involves learning about Floridas history and I loved seeing my students faces light up when they made connections to what they had learned in class. The tour guides are also wonderful, however, I must point out one tour guide in particular, Mad Marie. WOW!!!!! As I mentioned earlier, being a teacher, I have the opportunity to visit many museums and go on countless field trips where we are presented information by a tour guide. I have NEVER met a tour guide as enthusiastic, funny, knowledgeable, and in love with her job as Mad Marie is. My students are still talking about her and how much they learned about pirates and St. Augustine History in that time we spent at the museum listening to her detailed stories and accounts, as if she were really the pirate she was portraying. I had such a great time listening to her I felt compelled to write a review. I highly recommend this museum. The artifacts and stories behind each one are amazing, to say the least. In case you do visit, I would request Mad Marie as your tour guide. Absolute best tour guide, hands down!
