Triple Crown Sports lost a dear friend and one of the founding - TopicsExpress

Triple Crown Sports lost a dear friend and one of the founding employees of Triple Crown Sports last Friday. Ed Jones passed away peacefully following a long battle with Parkinsons, Diabetes, and general complications. Ed loved Triple Crown and was one of the first umpires ever hired when TCS started in 1983. In 1987, Ed became the companys UIC and was vital in building the first group of national level umpires. He developed our slow-pitch softball events in the South, built the Puerto Vallarta Umpires Association in Mexico, and was famous for managing the TCS intern house in the early 90s called the Ed Shed. Many college grads worked as interns for TCS in the summers and stayed at The Shed living under Eds rules. Ed retired as the first ever TCS Hall of Famer and was inducted in 1997 with Rod Crawford, Kent Oldham, Rex Bradley and John Marshall. Thank you Ed for all you did for TCS, you will truly be missed!
