Tripps vet texted me to let me know that he seems to be scratching a lot less after his first dip last Thursday. He will have additional dips each 5 days to kill off any new scabies that may hatch out. Hopefully, after 3 of these dips, he will be free of scabies and ready to begin his foster care. He continues to be in isolation 24/7, and that saddens us, but we have no choice in order to heal him. Nancy Tissot Loftin has graciously stepped up to volunteer her time and resources to a fundraiser to assist SLR with Tripps mounting vet bills. As we have discussed previously, he will have bills for boarding, scabies care, heartworm treatment and amputation of one of his rear legs - so we expect those bills to easily be in the thousands. The attached photo is a Tripp Paw Charm that was custom designed by Nancy and she will send one to each person that donates a minimum of $20 to SLR for Tripps vet bills. The dime is along side to give you a size comparison. Shipping charges are also being paid by Nancy. You can start imagining all the creative ways to show off your own Tripp Paw! If you have already donated, we have a list from the thank you card list that we can locate your prior Tripp donation from.
