Troll Bridge - WIP (Work In Progress) Part II I have been - TopicsExpress

Troll Bridge - WIP (Work In Progress) Part II I have been keeping up the task of putting pencil to paper at least a little every night since the first post I made about starting to head down the challenging old professional creative path. I still find it very hard to get started, the dread of failure is still an anchor, but fortunately I have been able to at least ignore it and move forward. One day, one moment at a time.... It has been hard... I have my classic battle of lethargy with it drawing as I do for many things... excuses and excuses... unfounded dread... on and on. What a dowdy little priss I can be sometimes. I have found a nice little niche of time to do my art, right after we put Sophia to bed but prior to starting my own heading to bed routine. I can usually squeeze out a good hour or two. Fortunately I seem to be a sociable artist and can work while conversing on light matters with my wife, which makes her happy ( much better than programming where I always end up in my zone and have no attention available for whats going on around me ). Makes me happy too since I am looking for more ways to connect rather than be just in my head all the time ( classic Gemini issue ). I have finished the rough penciling for the Troll. I am very happy with the progress so far. I fixed the right leg positioning, making him a bit less crotchy... and finished his hands and blocking out his shading. I am particular happy with the expression on his face, I was trying for a subtle melancholy that Neil Gaiman described the Troll in his story as having. For me I think I got it just the way I wanted it. Well now to do another difficult thing - leave it the frack alone and move on to the next part... I do love to overwork my roughs... Next up the young Jack who will be the focus of the Trolls gaze and light finger brushing. Thanks so much for following along. John
